Starting Point II is:
A voluntary health
agency with a professional staff
Concerned with the reduction
and prevention of chemical (alcohol and other drugs)
dependency, probably our nation's number one health problem
Governed by a Board of
Directors
representing city government, commerce and industry, the
health care community, social agencies, educational
institutions and other concerned citizens
Certified by the State of
Oklahoma as a Private Non-Profit Corporation
Annually certified by the
Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse
Services as a "Certified Alcohol/Drug Abuse Treatment
Program"
PURPOSES......
Starting Point II has five goals:
To deliver chemical
dependency related programs to the community
To educate people in the
community by increasing their level of awareness and
understanding of chemical dependency with respect to use and
abuse of alcohol and other drugs as it impacts on the
individual, the family, and the community
To direct persons into
therapeutic services by supporting and motivating them to
seek help and providing those services, directly or
indirectly, when appropriate
To provide individuals with
the opportunity to assess and modify their personal
attitudes, values, beliefs and behavior concerning chemical
use and abuse
To become part of and work
with existing community service agencies in order to promote
an effective health care network

Starting Point II offers:

information and assistance: Call Anytime

Consultation with
individuals and families experiencing alcohol/drug problems
for the purpose of evaluation and exploration of options
Outpatient Counseling Therapy,
Outpatient Substance Abuse Counseling, individual, group and familiy.
Non Medical Detoxification.
Through its 12-bed nonmedical detox unit there is provided a
therapeutic environment for the addicted. Persons
voluntarily enter this unit, usually brought by family,
friends or police. (It does provide an alternative to jail
and court for the public inebriate.)
As detoxification occurs,
staff assists the client to address the alcohol/drug
problem, should one exist. If there is a need and the client
wishes, staff offers options and makes arrangements for
entry into therapy, either residential or outpatient,
utilizing public and private resources throughout Oklahoma.

residential and outpatient treatment centers statewide
Speakers Bureau for
church, civic, educational and study groups
Resource Materials for
educators, students and other interested people
Our Location These
programs are available for ages 18 or over. As you can see, we can
provide a wide range of alcohol and/or drug abuse services in an
effort to reduce and prevent substance abuse and its impact on
the community.
FEES: Fees are based on a
sliding scale according to ability to pay for outpatient and
detoxification services. No one is denied services because of
inability to pay.
HOURS:Twenty-four hour services for detox and information.
